I always pray before sessions. Always. But this day, I knew I had a busy day so I decided to pick up my son’s little devotional. I had already begun feeling anxious and the very first sentence said (because it’s written from Jesus’ point of view), “I know that you have a lot to do today.”
Okay, wow.
Following that with this scripture from Luke 12:22, “Then Jesus said to his disciples: “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?
Because the thing is, I absolutely love, love, love newborn sessions. But I tend to get a little bit nervous. And God is always there guiding me and taking over the camera.
Elizabeth’s mom and I laughed and almost cried together numerous times and I feel like more than a client, I made a sweet new friend.
Elizabeth Iva is named after her late maternal grandmother and hearing that story almost brought me to tears, again.
God is so good, all the time, and Elizabeth is a blessing to all those around her.
Especially me. She was the perfect picture of true love.
And did I mention Amy and Jay didn’t know if she was a boy or girl until she was born? How exciting and what a perfect start to her story.
Thank you, Amy and Jay, for opening your home to me and allowing me to capture this little beauty and remember, yet, again, God’s faithfulness.
