Nine years ago, Rachel was one of my babies. If you remember how Sugar Snap came to me through such a selfless gift, you know that once upon a time, I was a teacher…and a cheerleading coach.
And Rachel was one of those sweet cheerleaders. You know the ones, coaches. The ones that work so hard. The ones that encourage everyone on the team, no matter what kind of day they had themselves. The ones that go the extra mile, every single time.
When Kuy was born, and I took a new job at a new school and had to leave these precious babies in the summer, it broke my heart. I loved them so. Yet from afar, I still had the privilege of watching them flourish.
And now, watching them grow up and get marrried…well, it makes my heart so deeply happy.
Because when Rachel is with Justin, she is full of JOY. That deep, abiding joy that comes from a true love.
When Rachel is with her girls, she is full of happiness, and so many smiles.
When Rachel walks into a room, the room immediately breathes. She is just that full of peace. Always the calming soul.
She is just like that cheerleader I knew so long ago…always pushing others to be her best. Always encouraging. Always hopeful.
And together, this pair, they will bring that to everyone they meet.
Everyone they know.
Everyone they encounter.
Because, together, they are always better.
Even more, if that’s even possible, than they are alone.
”Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails..” I Corinthians 13:4-8
