Some of you may not know that I “dwelled” in NYC for a while and that city holds a special place in my heart. I miss that city- sitting at my favorite coffee shop on a beautiful fall morning, the rumble of the subway train and the little shops that I adored visiting in my neighborhood. All those things give Manhattan a personality like none other. What you may not know or even understand is that while many things make up NYC, nothing is more special than the people who were a part of my life there. It really is those people who were a part of my life that give me the “I miss that city” syndrome.
When I moved to NYC, this family made me a part of their family. (Although the little ones were not around yet)
So you can imagine how happy I am that they now live in the beautiful NC mountains, only 3 hours from where I live.
This little girl was the flower girl in my wedding and it has been so much fun watching her grow. She is a city girl at heart, but thriving in this new little town of Blowing Rock. She has gone from ballet class in NYC to the soccer field under the mountaintops.
I remember the day this little boy was born. It was a very cold December morning and snow covered the ground. I can still remember taking the subway uptown to say hello to one of the sweetest little faces in the world. I wonder what this winter holds for him in the snowy mountain tops? I bet this year’s snowman will be the best!
And I can’t resist this photo of Little E. So curious.
Thank you for making me a part of your family. Thank you for the example you show, the love you give, and the giftedness you share. I love you guys so much.
