On Saturday, our doors opened and the most beautiful souls entered our home.
Our first photography workshop took place and I walked away completely in awe.
These women wanting to learn and grow more were mesmerizing. I still cannot get over our day.
We began by learning together and shared the technical side of our cameras. We talked all things lighting, posing, relationships and editing!
We took pictures of two families…one with a beautiful new baby and one with a little boy turning ONE!
We took pictures of Modern Piggy’s gorgeous bows and they had another chance to hone their skills using product.
We ate, we laughed, we cried.
This day is exactly what I envisioned for our home. Full of friends, full of laughter, full of joy and full of stories.
That’s how we began. We shared our stories and why together, we wanted to learn more. WHY we wanted to capture people, subjects, and products. WHY we wanted to grow.
And together, we did just that.
What a beautiful day it was, amidst the FREEZING cold AND rain, we learned how to adjust lighting since in my normally, natural light filled home, it was dark. We opened doors, ran out on the porch and even snuck out in the yard while the rain stopped for just a short minute!
When I began planning this day, this verse played over and over in my mind:
“Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that increases to your credit.”
And this gift of these friends, the fruit they are sharing with the world, it is all His and His alone. I also gifted these ladies, A Million Little Ways by Emily Freeman because I am so in awe of their gift. Each of them sharing with the world, in their little words, in one million tiny ways that they may never even realize.
So I say it again, “Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the FRUIT that increases to your credit.”
This day would not have been possible without the help of so many friends:
Modern Piggy for the beautiful bows
Night Own Design for our stationary
Katy Sauceman and Rebecca Finley for serving and photography
The Ballengers and Brocks for allowing us to capture them
Ben Wilson for the amazing video…
